Nick Miles joins the CloudM team from identity and access management company Okta, leaving his role as regional alliance director, responsible for the company’s channel and partner business across EMEA.
During his five years at the company, Nick grew his side of the business from generating just 2 per cent of Okta’s overall revenue to 92 per cent. Prior to that, Nick spent 13 years across various roles in the software industry and 14 years in the Royal Navy as a tactical warfare specialist in communications.
Nick’s appointment is part of CloudM’s wider ambitious strategy to more than double the business’ turnover in each of the next three years.
His key focus will be growing the business’ presence in the software as a service (SaaS) market domestically and internationally. He will also be responsible for the company’s sales worldwide, managing all commercial aspects of the business while leading a team of 15 members of staff.
CloudM helps businesses migrate over to the cloud. Its proprietary suite of software products includes cloud migration and management tools including CloudMigrator and CloudManager.
Commenting on his new role, Nick said: “Moving to CloudM was a natural progression for me. The company’s founders, James Doggart and Steve Dobson, have a big and clear vision for how they want the company to grow and I wanted to be a part of that.
“SaaS is a huge market that we need to be taking advantage of. Working with our partners in the channel, there’s a big opportunity for us to provide a unique offering to our customers that makes it even easier for them to transition over to the cloud.”
Nick's appointment follows the promotion of Gary Bennion to CloudM's chief product officer in May 2019 who is now responsible for CloudM.
Gary said: “CloudM has grown from around 30 employees in 2018 to nearly 80 today and we’ve migrated more than 36,000 business to the cloud. Nick’s joining at a time where we’re looking to accelerate this growth even further and we’re looking forward to having him on the team.”
