DRIVE MANAGEMENT FOR AUTOMATE & PROTECT

Manage Google Drive with greater visibility and control

With Drive Management for Automate & Protect, you can see what’s happening across users’ My Drives and Shared Drives, identify risks and take action.

VISIBILITY AND CONTROL

See what’s happening across Google Drive

Google Drive can quickly become difficult to manage across files, Shared Drives, users and external collaborators. Drive Management gives IT teams a clearer view of what needs attention and the controls to act on it.
SHARED DRIVE MANAGEMENT

More control over Shared Drives

See who has access, identify Drives that need attention and manage members and settings without jumping between individual Shared Drives.

  • Find unmanaged Drives
Find Shared Drives without the right owners or managers
  • Control access
Review external members, sharing settings and public access
  • Manage membership
Add, remove or update members and permissions
MY DRIVE MANAGEMENT

Manage users’ Google Drive content as an administrator

Get visibility into individual users’ My Drives and manage files, folders, ownership and access from one place.

  • View a user’s Drive contents
See files and folders without signing in as the user
  • Review sharing and access
Check who can access files and update permissions where needed
  • Manage content and ownership
Move, rename or delete files and folders, and transfer ownership of individual files.
MANAGE AT SCALE

Google Drive management that scales with you

When you’re responsible for hundreds or thousands of Shared Drives, individual administration doesn’t scale. Enterprise gives IT teams bulk controls to find issues and make changes across their Google Drive environment.

  • Update multiple Drives at once
Make changes across multiple Shared Drives at once
  • Organisation-wide visibility
Understand what’s happening across your wider Drive environment
  • Consistent controls
Apply settings and access changes more efficiently across large Drive environments

FAQs

What is Google Drive management?
Google Drive management gives administrators a central way to view and manage Shared Drives, files and users’ My Drives across their organisation. With Drive Management for Automate & Protect, admins can search and filter Drive content, review sharing and permissions, and take action without switching between individual users and Drives.
Can Google Workspace admins see users’ My Drive files?
Yes. CloudM Drive Management lets administrators view an individual user’s My Drive from their Directory record without signing in as that user. Admins can see files, folders, storage use, items shared with the user and content in the Bin.
How can I find and manage unmanaged Shared Drives?
CloudM flags Shared Drives that do not have a manager, so administrators can filter specifically for unmanaged Drives and review them. You can also search and filter Shared Drives by organisational unit, members, managers, permissions and sync status.
Can I manage Google Drive sharing and permissions?
Yes. Drive Management lets administrators review members, roles, sharing settings and access policies for Shared Drives. Within files and folders, admins can also view sharing details and change permissions directly.
How does Drive Management support employee offboarding?
Drive Management helps administrators understand what Drive content a departing user owns or has access to, review external sharing, and transfer or manage files where needed. Used alongside Workflows, Backup and Archive in Automate & Protect, it can form part of a more controlled offboarding process.
