The eagle-eyed might have noticed that CloudM’s Product and Engineering teams have been focussing on ensuring Google Chat and Spaces are fully supported by our SaaS and Migrate tools. As chat tools rapidly become the tool of choice for instant messaging and team collaboration, it has so far been impossible to take all of this data with you when moving between Google Workspace tenants. With Migrate 4.5, we’re introducing new features and capabilities to make migrations to and from Google Chat and Spaces as easy as possible for you.

Migrate 4.5: Complete support for Google to Google Chat and Spaces migrations

We’re thrilled to announce that CloudM Migrate now supports direct messages, including 1-1 and group chats, and Spaces in tenant to tenant migration scenarios. This means that all your Chat and Spaces data will seamlessly be migrated to your new domain.

Spaces to Spaces: What will be migrated?

  • All messages in a Space conversation
  • Replies within message threads
  • Attachments from migrating and non-migrating users
  • Unordered and nested unordered lists
  • GIFs and custom emojis
  • Reactions from migrating users
  • Quoted messages

Bonus: Easily validate your document migration

To provide clearer insights, Document Folders are now tracked as a separate statistic instead of being included in the general “Documents” count on the progress page or in reports.

Moving to Chat from Teams?

Migrate now fully supports attachments from both private and shared channels as well as content from non-migrating users. More details can be found here.
