CloudM Manage Product Update

Blog

Innovation is at the forefront of everything we do. More and more businesses are seeing the advantages of embracing a digital workplace, so being able to manage your company data easily and securely has never been more important. We have exciting goals set for the future of CloudM as we embrace and move towards a single pane of glass approach, enabling users to perform a multitude of different cloud administration and management tasks within the same application. Our upcoming release is a huge step towards making this goal a reality, providing you with a more unified and integrated platform, building the foundation towards our vision.

We are always looking at ways to improve, with the main objective of making sure CloudM Manage is accessible for all of our users, regardless of their technical background. Whilst User Interface (UI) changes can at first feel unfamiliar, especially when you’re used to using a piece of software in a certain way, there is always reasoning behind that change. Change is necessary and, at CloudM, we don’t do anything without good reason.

Before changing a single pixel, we gathered feedback and performed user research to understand what we needed to focus on in order to improve the UI/UX so that our users receive the best experience possible, and are able to fully utilise all of the product's features in one place.

We user tested and iterated on the design and layout until we had something that was intuitive for anybody to use, with updates to features that will future-proof the platform. We are excited to share these updates with you, which will be available for all users by the end of September 2020.

New navigation

New navigation

We took our designs back to basics, with the first change you’ll notice being a total overhaul of the page structure. The primary navigation now has a clear defined purpose in order to create a more seamless journey for our users. Feedback had suggested the navigation system could sometimes be confusing and forced our users to jump between areas to complete tasks. To address this, we have simplified the home, directory, administrate and settings areas so it’s easier than ever to navigate through the platform. One of the most exciting new additions is the ‘home’ area where you can view data and insights about your organisation, and there are future development plans in place to make this even more intuitive, so make sure you watch out for future updates on this section!

Highlighting Popular Features

In addition to improved navigation, all of our most popular features now have their own dedicated pages, making it even easier to use. We have introduced a mini browser that enables you to choose the entity you wish to configure, so configuring multiple org units or smart teams is now much simpler and quicker than ever before. The life-cycle of any user is also a key process to secure your data, so there is now an explicit onboarding section, along with further developments to the offboarding process. We have also added a brand new feature called ‘Offboarding status’ so users can see, at a glance, all of the offbrading actions occurring within their domain. This holistic approach means users can perform bulk approvals, rejections and even abort commands across multiple offboarded users, all at the same time.

Groups

The groups section has been simplified to make it clear and easy to use; originally Manage contained two different types of groups, but these will have now merge into a single ‘Groups’ type, which can have either dynamic or static member lists. You can still view all groups with just dynamic member lists with advanced search drop down by using the ‘Show only dynamic members’ option, but this updates means it’s, again, all in one place.

Our new feature updates have one thing in common; they are built for growth. Over the coming months you can expect to see sections for CloudM Migrate, a new Archive product that we’re working on and some other exciting ideas that we have in the pipeline, which we can’t wait to share with you! If you have an idea for a new feature that you’d like to tell us about, then feel free to submit your idea via our feature voting portal here,

We will also be conducting a free on demand webinar alongside the platform update with our Product Manager, Ash Thomas where you will be able to see these exciting new features and how they work within the platform.
